While looking for a padel racket, I started to wonder – how big can a padel racket head be? Could I get a really long padel racket, like the length of a tennis racket?
The International Padel Federation (FIP) has set official size limits for padel rackets:
Padel Head:
- Maximum length: 45.5 centimeters
- Maximum width: 26 centimeters
- Maximum thickness: 38 millimeters (with a 2.5% tolerance)
Padel Handle:
- Maximum handle length: 20 centimeters
- Maximum handle thickness: 50 millimeters
The total length of a padel racket, including the handle, must not exceed 45.5 centimeters.

These dimensions are maximums, so rackets can be smaller than these dimensions. However, they cannot be larger than these dimensions.
Additional Padel Racket Rules from the FIP:
- The hitting surface must be perforated with an unlimited number of cylindrical holes, each between 9mm and 13mm in diameter.
- The racket must weigh between 340 and 390 grams to meet official regulations.
- Each padel racket must include a non-elastic wrist cord, attached to the handle, with a maximum cord length of 35 centimeters. This is to prevent accidents during play.
The FIP's standards for padel racket dimensions and weight ensure fair competition and promote player safety.
